journal prompts and playlist for thought daughter evenings
favourite activity? people watching and writing in my journal
I present to you the thought daughter evening playlist:
February passed by so quickly that it felt like a fever dream. Can February come again? Why’d you move on so swiftly when I finally started embracing your warmth? March has already set its foot into our lives, and my mind has been wandering a lot on the random things I observe when I step outside. The girls in front of me on the escalator as I made my way to the platform were talking about how excited they were to wear the new dress they bought for a CAS concert. I found myself smiling at their passionate excitement for a moment they’ll probably remember for a long time. I quickly changed the song from a Lizzy Mcalpine classic (I love her I adore her) to a CAS song because I just had to dive into their discography and keep walking as if I were that quiet mysterious girl who is the main character of a music video, with earphones plugged into her phone, a large jacket on, an emotional support tote bag and her hair rustling as the wind brushed against her hair and her face. I can’t help it. I love it. A lot of us do it, don’t we? During our silly little walks, during car rides, looking out the window, or while we silently people watch. It’s such a warm, fuzzy, and ‘I don't know what it is, but I love it so much’ feeling that I just can’t explain.
I thought to myself that I wanted to write something about this moment in my journal. I did. What I also did was make a playlist about it. Everything’s just so much better with a little bit of music on. With just the right music, the right song, and the right lyrics, ordinary things transcend into something extraordinary; they become almost magical, like something worth romanticizing.
I’ve collected some of the journal prompts I’ve used during moments like these, when I’m the main character of a music video in my world, when I’m people watching, when I’m looking out the window, when the concept of life and existence whirl in my mind or as they say, when I’m just experiencing a thought daughter evening.

Write about a song you can never get over like it’s ingrained in your veins.
Write about something you loved as a child, something that slowly faded away as you grew up.

These are such good prompts! I can’t wait for my new journal to arrive so I can listen to your playlist, decorate it and write my first few pages ❤️
